my tonkaJR my feroza

daihatsu Feroza called the F300 is one capable offroader like the vitara

There are cars that you drive to work and to the supermarket; to the hills, through the waters to play...and there are cars that have become more than that: a faithful companion that is a part of your life. our 1972 converted Willy's Mc Arthur has been with us since 1972. we have been operating a business that requires extensive deliveries, customer visit rain or shine.. when we decide to part our 1972 owner jeep, we know its time to get a replacement. After almost a yr of advertizing we finally sold our custom made 1973 willys mc arthur jeepster for just Php. 35,000, we then decided it was time for us have a spare car to drive against the elements of the unpredictable Philippine weather, since dad cant drive a sedan, we have no choise but to get a daihatsu Rocky known as a daihatsu feroza (F300) here in the Philippines. we got it for 167k

submerged car: what to do

If you are in traffic and you observed that floodwater is rising and predict it to be another
epic flood then turn off the engine, lock the car and leave! your life is more valuable than
your souped up car. and please, even if you have river crossing experience, Do not try or
attempt to wade into the floods.its not safe, its costly afterwards because water will enter
and will be mixed with your differential oil.

Now that Typhoon Super#MarioPH has run out of the country, its buying time for dealers buying flood submerged cars. I also buy flood submerged cars by the bulk for part out.(not for sale) but for "katay".
so I have seen how it looks like, and have actually cleaned a few with the help fom mechanics and
chopchop boys.

the rain poured yesterday at 6pm which prompted the car painter to stop whatever he is n doing, then it turned to heavy downpour at 730pm , an overnight downpour, at 5am, the water level is dangerously high in some areas and raised from yellow to Orange alert, then at 6am, Manila is on Red Rainfall alarm, which prompted the suspension of Classes  in all levels  and govt offices to suspend work. then at 10am, the rain stopped.

take a look at this pic, heres our building, rain water went to the 4th floor, and the street where my suv is parked? is flooded for the first time. in 25 yrs. more pics can be seen here

As of now, Manila is in RED rainfall alert, that means  evacuation for low lying areas. Floodwaters of epic proportions are not new to us anymore, Flashback to 2009,  We met the first monster flasflood called Ondoy, In just 9 hours, of Sept 24, 2012, Ondoy dumped over a month’s volume of rain. The typhoon lasted for a few days, but the recovery from it was long, tough and, to those directly affected, painful. brand new cars were sold for less than 40k. and I bought plenty of them for parts.

In recent years, rains brought by the southwest monsoon – locally known as habagat – and enhanced by nearby storms have become as destructive as the big storms  like pedring, milenyo and yolanda.

In August 2012, the habagat was enhanced by a typhoon with international codename Haikui.

In the same month the following year, another habagat was enhanced by severe tropical storm Maring (international name Trami). which triggered massive flodding and destroyed or washed away new cars. (which I bought for spare parts).

What can we do to  stop another Ondoy from happening? as of now? NONE. we can only prepare, by transferring and/or moving our cars in an elevated parking, we can only  do a little now. because the actual preparation should be done last summer. and not now.
grr!!!!!!NOTHING HAS CHANGED. YES, OUR ROAD HAS. THE ROAD ONLY. THE ROAD.... but  the draining system has not!!

this is your loverboy DENNIS signing out.

I hope there wont be any epic flooding in Mckinley SM Aura tomorow when I attend  Bloggapalooza with friends
say safe everyone.

galant 7g revival

Growing up, changing oil washing cars for people outside the scorching summer heat from  morning to afternoon was a chore to me, its also an opportunity for me to get familiar with different types of car makes, brands and  a good lesson in car appreciation it teached me about tools and cars. And, like many other car nuts, I'm sure it was the start of my love affair with cars, although it didn't seem that way at the time because I particularly dont have enough money to buy even the food I wanted.

Royal Postage Heritage Guided tour- the met.

Recently, a bus terminal and parking structure has been constructed at the back of
the theatre. I remembered to watch a play last 1989 when i was in 4th yr High school,
it was still open to the public until it closed february of 1998.
The theater was again closed in 1996 due to ownership disputes between the city
administration and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).

On June 23, 2010, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Manila mayor
Alfredo Lim re-opened the theater after extensive renovations. The Theater used
again once for the Wolfgang Band Concert in 2011. But in 2012, the theater is
closed again due to decays inside the building.

laloma cemetery tour

The La Loma Catholic Cemetery (Campo Santo de La Loma) was opened in 1884 and is located mostly in the city of Manila and the northwestern part to Caloocan. the oldest cemetery in Manila with an area of slightly less than 54 hectares (130 acres). It was opened in 1884 and was originally known as Cementerio de Binondo .
Campo Santo de La Loma is one of the few sites that escaped ruin during World War II in the 1945 Battle of Manila where most of the city’s collection of architecture was destroyed.
Me and my friend Lawrence decided to drop by one saturday  afternoon for a tour. and here are the pics I took.

BANAWE: A carnuts' lovehate relation

Growing in this part of the metro, Banawe Street has been a familiar place to me eversince I was a teenage carwash boy. I visited this stretch of Road from cor. Araneta St. to the ends of e-rodriguez St. and it has been a haven for both buy and sell car dealers, agents, street tuners, ricers, import tuners, and a shopping center for those who loved car accesories and

I  remembered how this small street of cars parts and accessories managed to live within neighboring restaurants (only a few of them in 1993)
and as time goes by....

people who wanted their cars repaired also thought of eating something while they wait with their significant other usually for hours,
hence the birth of the famous Banawe Street
(for good food and good parts).

merchandise are separated into (3) three,
car accesories, car parts(surplus, brandnew, replacement)
and katay parts.

i dont dig the goldigger

you read it right!

definition: golddigger. Any woman whose primary interest in a relationship is material benefits. A woman who cares more about a man's bank account than she does about her feelings. she digs the guys' money and spends the money  for the one she loves. yes, she will be the one spending for the man she loves.

goodbye Anda

before moving this, BADpwh would have to get the nod of the last but most important person–the Mayor.

Their reason? for the Monument's own protection. so that if ever a car goes off course,
it wont  damage the monument - some reason!

The expanded truck ban implemented by  Manila last February, totally banning trucks from 9am to 5pm from all roads in the City, worsened the problem of congestion of container vans in the Ports.
