Valentines day and flowers

In the 1970s,  flower sellers set up shops in a residential area beside a bus 
terminal called Dangwa Tranco in Sampaloc,&  forty years after the opening 
of the first Dangwa Flower Market, business is always in bloom.

Buses coming from Benguet  would deliver flowers including on a regular basis; 
these would then be purchased wholesale by various florists in the city.

through the years the stalls that once are in the vicinity of the bus station 
have spread out to Lacson Avenue, Laon Laan and Dimasalang.

heres a little something I want to share regarding the color of the roses
may it serve as a guideline to the lovers out there...

Red Roses - Love and passion
White Roses - True love, purity of the mind and reverence
Yellow Roses - Friendship, celebration and joy
Pink Roses - Friendship or Sweetheart, admiration
Peach Roses - Desire and excitement or appreciation
Lilac Roses - Love at first sight and enchantment
Coral Roses - Desire
Orange Rose- Enthusiasm and desire
Black Roses - Farewell or "It's Over"

we were there last night. traffic was terrible, people park on the street
to conveniently buy roses for their wife, girlfriend(s), and some bought
in bulks for flower delivery business.  Dangwa is the place to go for 
flowers not found in the country you will be amazed!

from loyal husbands , loyal suitors, loyal boyfriends, to fuccboi(s), cheaters
they are all there its like a "may kadate ako sa 14" club gathering.
flowers are delivered at night, so they make it a point to go to Dangwa at the 
exact time. but its also the “worst” time to go when you bought a car.
lastnight we parked safely at Laong Laan Phonix gas station.

my advice? never buy at the eve before the “bagsakan” because  the old 
stocks are still there. your flowers will look okay but they will not last as long 
also never buy at the first stall you see.  survey the merchandise, and remember 
which stall caught your eye. because it will be hard to remember which is which
there are around a hundred or more stalls with lots of male shoppers around
we got lost and it took us a while to locate where our car was parked.

another advice is try asking other stall owners to arrange flowers you bought 
from another stall. yes, this will be much cheaper. because different stalls have 
different specializations. one stall even sells cacti at 400.00!

today is Valentines day....and you know my friend...
hearts day is not only for lovers, Valentine’s Day is a day that celebrates love 
and GOD is love!

I find the history of Valentine’s Day interesting. To most people they see it
as a Hallmark holiday. What is more important than love. Love is all around us
who you love and how you love is between you and those you love.
the LOVERBOY personally believe in many things. I believe in Christ & Love. 

Valentines day is Saint Valentines day. not lovers day. not epicenterquake day
St. Valentine was a Christian who stood up to the Roman government.
He thought the decrees of Rome were WRONG. He believed that people 

should be free to love God and to marry whomever they wanted. He performed 
matrimony services to young couples who wished to be married. and against 
Rome’s wishes. He was also imprisoned for not renouncing Christ and his faith. 
Because of this he was executed. He died on February 14, 270 A.D.
Before he was killed, he sent a message to his love signed: “From Your Valentine.”

Valentines day is not just for lovers. its also for people close, your bosom
buddies, your barkada, your travel buddy.
make everyday Valentines day. spread the love with a friend, a love one,
your family!
