Focusing on people with gardens who still want to have a lot of enjoyment and fun in their
hobby. the much awaited annual garden show happens in 2 weeks called the
HORTIKULTURA FILIPINA 2018  has has been inspiring gardeners like me for years.

These days, most of us are spending way too much time indoors, and a lot of that time
is spent in front of a screen. This usually means we are sitting still and socially isolated.
It’s bad for the eyes, body, as well as our social engagement system. gardening is always
a healthy hobby that gets you outdoors, gets you moving, and helps encourage social
interaction is one way to be more active. Gardening helps maintain a healthy weight, it
does wonders for mental health. It’s calming, and  has been found to reduce stress,
improve mood and support brain health as we age.

Gardening can also be a way to engage with family and create some long lasting
traditions. Instead of buying your GF  another bouquet of flowers this Valentines,
how about picking out a few plants at QC Circle's garden centers and booths and
choose some that you can plant together? isn't that sweet? and much unique? if you
have a big garden, Perhaps a fruit tree that will bear gifts for years to come.

If you feel the need to re-connect with your barangay, planting something is a great
way to do that. And if you’re looking for gardening advice, of course you can use
the internet search,  but it will never replace value of face-to-face contact with
Lawrence Chan, with his advocacy giving free horticultural walking tours around
the exhibit area, there are also free daily lectures and workshops in this week long
garden show.
