ahp paranaque

this is my first travel fore this year. I was out for quite a long time and missed
a lot of activities and events when we have to move 3 branches and that includes
our house to give way for the demolition of the old lot where my former business was.
its a sad move but I need to just carry on and start anew.

So ... I  booked a grab cab to the meeting place where I  was delighted to
see my AHP family, and it was nice to be back. today we traveled to Paranaque,
a City I never thought would have a rich pre war heritage . even if  I have not yet
recovered from a 2 week cough, I still insisted to continue because I may not be
able to have a chance to view the highlight of the Paranaque tour, which is
Palacio de memoria and regret it all throughout 2019... so, here is my story.

when we went to our first stop, I learned that Paranaque City public library
started after the war.1945 known as Municipal library, from a small
facility in the municipal session hall.

when Paranaque became a city in 1998, it was renamed to Paranaque City public
library and the library which we had our seminar/talk, the newer one  was build
in 2017

this is a picture by Arvie Hernandez of how big the meeting place is. the library.
another pic with me in the background is taken by Ms. Pie.

and this one is taken by Miss Annie Grace Obeya of the now famous
"ANG tatlong Dennis"

our first stop was the Paranaque City public library, I was surprised that the AHP tarp was
already hung there at the gate to welcome us.
we all met  at the school library, I was so amazed that the library was quite big compared
to other libraries I visited. too bad Caloocan does not have one I know of...so it is quite
impressive, we met Arvie Hernandez and he guided us about the history of Paranaque
we are served breakfast (coffee kakanin) there at the Paranaque City public library.
thanks to our AHP Paranaque coordinator Ralph Chavez for a job well done.

this is our second stop, the church of St. Andrews image by Allan P. Martinez.
we stayed here for 30 mins. I am not in the group picture because the afternoon
sun is about and perspiring would not be good for my persistent cough.
oh by the way this is the picture of the church.  by Arvie Hernandez and
Allan P. Martinez
and  the church graduation shot is a must before we leave.

our next stop was the old ruins of the 1957 Hernandez Mansion. its called
the white house. eerrrie creepie as it looks its a grand house and you know
when you are joining heritage tours, all is there to appreciate. there is no
room for wild imaginations of the supernatural even if we know they
are just around us.
this old house in Barangay Dongalo

then we proceeded to Guevarra museum(image by Allan P. Martinez)
nothing much to say here.. it just looks like an american style warehouse

after this we went to our next destination
thanks to Tano (Jonathan Hernandez) for the pics

then to pascual ancestral house (image by Arvie Hernandez)
The neo-castillan Pascual 1940 built Pascual ancestral house in brgy Tambo
owned by one of the first rich families in Tambo...the Pascual clan.
here are the pictures of the house(by Arvie Hernandez), which I tool from
Paranaque library page.

this is our last stop. the palacio de memoria, it was built when roxas blvd was
still dewey blvd. and Manila bay was still part of Tambo beach, sunday picnics
by the bay, clean waters...the bay sunset...those were the days,  and there
stand a once elegant house....
until the war destroyed nichols air field.....
After the war, the property was acquired by the Villaroman Family, whose
patriarch Dr. Francisco Villaroman Sr. a physician, surgeon, professor at the Surgery
College of UST, it was called the Villaroman Mansion, most of the interior was
redone in the Filipino Art Deco style. it is now known as PALACIO de memoria
or Palace of memories, its inspired by how the mansions in dewey blvd look before
the war.

this 7 storey house in a 3 hectare property is now owned by Lhuiller family

i cannot describe what antiques are inside since they are for auction so here
are the interior shots, see for yourself

picture taking by its grand staircase

after the 1 hr tour we had our graduation picture and finally went home a little earlier than
expected around 4pm(image by Raffy Chavez)
it was a nice tour, everybody was happy, congrats again to Raffy Chavez for a job
well done. and that concludes my first tour for 2019 AHP PARANAQUE TOUR

I was on a hurry taking another grab ride to Gallo Yacht charters where another
adventure awaits.
