Last Saturday the 22nd, April, we were invited by Allan Martinez a heritage
advocate, art lover, photographer, and a very good son. I met his parents,
amazing family, very humble antique collector and philatelist.
we all had an exciting day that afternoon, and here is my story.
there were 3 Vans. the super magic Nissan Urvan of Roy Santiago.
and 2 grandia one for Allan's officemate and the other van used by
his family. the drive via Nlex stopped by at our first destination
the ancestral house of our friend Meng Santos, Casa Flor De Liza
we had early breakfast there. I noticed the crochet are displayed
and the lights are turned ON. I loved the valenciana sir Meng served
us. proud to say I ate half of it!
after we took pictures we proceeded to our next destination
to San Miguel, and its my first time to go to Biac na Bato
National Park.
its good for travellers who would like to experience nature with a lil history lesson
without going too far from the city.
because we are all treated to a free entrance by the celebrant Allan.
thanks very much sir! then we are guided inside the park by 3 guides.
the climb and descent are not that difficult. because its summer.
this is the only hard part (that is if you carry things with you) and if you
dont want your shoes or socks to get wet(which is impossible) even on a
summer morning.
Biak na Bato National Park is one of the country’s ecological and historical treasures
encompassing the southern edge of the Sierra Madre range situated a few kilometers
from San Miguel Bulacan.
a cool place to relax, meditate.
this is the only hanging bridge there,
Philippine-Spanish wars. But it was an important precursor to the country’s freedom,
because it was the first time a truce was attempted between Spain and the Philippines
since the revolution erupted called pact of biak na bato. Aguinaldo's troops were
being routed in Cavite and, thus, his revolutionary government moved to the more
secluded Biak-na-Bato in Bulacan.that is what I remember in my history class of
Mrs. Manahan way back a lot of decades ago.
this place is home to hundreds of small and big caves, the Spaniards had difficulties
in fighting the Katipuneros because of these caves.. Local tour guides will be
accompanying you inside, the place is huge, 2000 hectares of mounains, caves
and could be dangerous without local guides knowledgeable enough about the place.

some more view of the place
The 2,100 hectare national park offers various ecological attractions and you can
see streams, man made waterfalls, green thick forests and caves which made it a
suitable hideout for Aguinaldo during wartime.
after this we went to Saint Martin de Pores and have a tour of the place
its my 3rd time to visit so no picture other than this shot by pretty photog
Jenny.
then we proceeded to Cafe Apolonio.for our dinner before calling it a day.
thanks again Allan for the birthday treat. happy birthday!
this is your LOVERBOY Dennis signing out.
