Marian Procession

The Grand Marian Procession takes place every First Sunday of December fronting
Plaza de Roma at the facade of the Cathedral in Intramuros

Its organized by the Confradia de la Inmaculada Concepcion Foundation in
cooperation with the (I.A.) Intramuros Administration and the AFP the 3 kilometer
procession of beautifully and elaborately-adorned carriages bearing the images
of the Blessed Virgin Mary with her different titles from different parts of the
usually country starts at 4 o'clock in the afternoon from Plaza Roma in front of the
Manila Cathedral and winds its way through the streets of the Walled City.

The annual procession, now on its 39th year, was held on the first Sunday
of December to commemorate the Feast of the Immaculate Concepcion, which is
celebrated on December 8.

Catholic devotions to MARY expressed by honoring her in different ways are
based on scripture.
