Even before the Transportshow was established, cars were in my life.

Not in an I love cars kinda way.  But more like a I need to have interest in cars because I;m into the buy and sell carexchange business.

And in my younger years,  cars has always fascinated me, I never dreamnt of joining in a mini carshow 

where my honda city was selected  to represent the SX8 car body.

I completely understand that for some people car shows are the ultimate in eye candy.
Gratitude is a part of my everyday life.  I look for, and mentally note the little
things.  It has trained my brain to see the good in everything, and that’s not a bad way to live.

During the (GM body)Honda  city lauching ealier this summer, (2014)My newly painted  honda city was lucky to be chosen to represent the SX8 in various honda showrooms.

The next-gen City was developed at Honda’s Tochigi R&D center with inputs extensive market surveys to adapt to the needs of customers as part of the company’s new 'global reform program
The interior features the 'man maximum machine minimum' concept  is applied to optimize interior space for occupants promising itself as the most spacious and comfortable City ever.

Our country, the Philippines will be getting similar engine options as the outgoing model;
possibly improved versions of the 1.3-liter i-VTEC and 1.5-liter i-VTEC with 'Earth Dreams' technology.


HCPI is aiming to set the standard in the sub-compact sedan segment with the launch of the all-new City. Penned under Honda’s new design language—Exciting H Design—the all-new City is a mix of angular lines, creases, and curves that look to elevate Honda back into the forefront of design. Beyond the design, the all-new City also presents new convenience features and a revised powertrain for improved power and efficiency.  it still retaind the GM6 body name

Compared to its immediate predecessor, the all-new fourth-generation City carries the same-sized body in terms of length (4,440 mm) and width (1,695 mm), but is +10 mm taller (1,495). The biggest news though is the additional +50 mm in wheelbase bringing the City to 2,600 mm—comparable to some C-segment sedans. [source wikipedia]

the all-new City is actually lighter than the outgoing model, shedding some 75 kilograms for same speced-automatic transmission variants. The City rides on standard 15-inch alloy wheels with the top-of-the-line variant getting 16-inch rims,LED side mirror turn signal indicators and front fog lamps.
theres 1.5 E Modulo Utility and 1.5 VX Aero Sports. my bet is Aero sports vx.

The all-new City is only available as a 1.5-liter model. This engine is largely a carryover from the previous City meaning it develops 120 horsepower. However, improvements have been made to its exhaust system, particularly the EGR valve, to improve fuel efficiency. This is mated to a 5-speed manual or the new Earth Dreams 7-speed CVT with paddle shifters.
theres no 1.3 version since honda launched another one, the brio -  just came out.

1.5 VX Aero Sports variant includes front grille, front under spoiler, side under spoiler, rear under spoiler, wing-type tailgate spoiler, illuminated side step garnish and Modulo emblem with the suggested retail price of P935,000.

The 1.5 E CVT Modulo Utility variant includes front grille, door visor, trunk tray, seatback holder, tablet holder, door side protector, trunk cargo hook and Modulo emblem with suggested retail price of P821,000.

Ive enjoyed every HCCP GEB and with Honda Cars Dealership as our venue every GEB, (I only missed the Bulacan and Maros Hiway venue by the way) you meet new friends who are city enthusiast and additional knowledge about the Honda City we love.

the only thing thats lacking in the GM model is the OEM stock panoramic sunroof. BY THE WAY, the GM city has the most number of kilometers per liter, as presented by sir Ron Delos Reyes, 22km/liter.(honda city sept 4 eco-run)

my honda city (SX8)

I had my honda city through my special someone 15 yrs ago. a 1997 Honda City SX8 , this car has been my loyal steed from yr. 2000 to present. and is one of the lowest milleage Honda City unit in town. I will write a separate blog about my car and its adventures. this is about the Honda City, first Generation. before the TypeZ body. hope you guys enjoy my observation.

 One Sunday of  Feb. 20, 2014 me and my friend Alex, of ASL Photography went to Q. Circle and Parks and Wildlife as I narrate to him my little plan to let my friends know of my 15 y old trusted car, the honda city (sx8) , thanks for these pics from the lens of Alexander Lohongko.

 The Honda City has always been a good handling car and the latest iteration continues to offer good body control with eagerness to enter corners. However the tyres on the car are really disappointing. In the interest of fuel efficiency, Honda has gone ahead with puny 175 mm section tires, having a small tire leads to loss of traction very quickly and plenty of screeches when cornering or braking hard, thats why I need to change tires and rims

The SX8 City was Honda’s ‘economical car’ specially designed for the ASEAN market during the downturn of 1996/1997
Being a budget car does not mean a punishment, which the City debunks that notion. Thanks to the sub 1,000kg body weight, it handles well despite using McPherson struts rather than the double wishbone utilized by the Civic.

You get a roomy cabin good for four of your friends (or family members) to hop in, but interior quality is very disappointing but you shouldn't since they say "you get what you pay for". you get a comfortable driving position that is complemented with large windows and a low hood. Power windows for the 1.3 LXi are only available in the front, with the rear occupants have to crank the windows down.

Two options can be had, with the most common one is the D13B4 1,343cc which spits out 95hp at 6,400rpm and 121Nm at 4,700rpm. Fitted among VTi models is the D15 1,493cc that carries 115hp at 6,800rpm and 142Nm at 4,600rpm. These engines are lively when reached at 4,000rpm and for a low price, you get something that is enjoyable to drive thanks to a light body and well spaced gear ratios.

Based on the EF Civic platform, the City nameplate was resurrected in 1996 under the chassis code SX8. It was developed and sold in developing markets (South East Asia, India, Pakistan) and to complement the EK Civic but at a lower price.
with some marketing efforts done locally including a song played in radio stations, this generation of City - together with the next generation models - found success in the local market. Initially available with a 1.3 engine, a 1.5 model was later added in 1998 and an update was done in 1999. You can buy the SX8 City until 2003, which the GD City replaced it.

While the Civic has elegant curves, the City makes do without any flashy design cues. But remember, it is a low frills vehicle that can transport you from point A to Z. To differentiate a 1.3 to a 1.5 City, the former gets black door handles while the latter has color coded ones.

Honda City has been in the country for over a decade now.  The first model was launched in the year 1996, the second model hit roads in 2002, whereas the third model made it in 2008. As per sources, the second, third and fourth generation city's are based on Jazz platform, whereas the first model was based on modified Civic EF platform

old looking dash the center console needs to be fixed to allow room for a 2din headunit it however lacks a mix of high-quality plastics and soft-touch surfaces so it wont feel more upscale than in late model years.

The SX8 Honda City is also priced within that range and it can be yours between P145,000-P230,000. Parts can be procured at any Honda specialist shop, and maintaining one is on the affordable side. While hunting for your City, be careful with units with rust especially if the vehicle got in an accident and the body repair was poorly done. Fuel economy is wallet friendly, and there is no carburetor to worry about.

Manny vs. Money May?

Finally – The Showdown of the Century! The boxing world has been clamouring for the megabuck fight over the last five to six years. Disputes over blood testing and fight-purse sharing
had been the stumbling blocks to get the fight done in the past. But now, it
appears that Mayweather and his camp has had a change of heart, allowing Pacman
to emerge as enticing opponent for the undefeated American boxer.

A beaten to death topic, the Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Jr. mega-fight was on the shelf since 2012, Manny vs Floyd  would be the biggest boxing fight in a generation, but while the two have mostly avoided one another, promoter Bob Arum believes it will happen .....  Eventually. not now.

and the megabuck showdown between Money May and the Pacman will finally take place next yr, 2015 (before the elections) after several failed attempts to arrange the biggest match in boxing history.

Ive read that the Money vs. Pacman showdown is already a done deal. Money May has already agreed to terms with the Pac.  and there are Rumours circulating that Pacquiao will be fighting Mayweather as a free-agent without any backings from Top-Rank promotions.  (Because while he is with Arum, there wont be a Money-Pac fight materializing)

If the fight pushes through, both outfits look at a total of $250 million payout including conservative estimates in pay-per-views.

well, I hope this happens soon, Ill put my money on ___________ lets wait and see.

my 1st mid size sedan-the cefiro

the Infiniti 130 is a Nissan Cefiro And the Maxima nameplate is used in the
America,  While the Cefiro nameplate used in Asian countries including the PHilippines
was gone in 2003(after the cefiro a33), it had been used as a name for the Nissan
Teana (J31) which is its direct replacement. The Cefiro name is used in Hong Kong,
Singapore, Brunei, Bangladesh, Latin America, and the Caribbean (now usin the Teana brand)
the luxury brand is now comparable with the new Altima also from Nissan.


The Cefiro was made available in 1988 (a31 body) as a four door sedan, with its
rear wheel drive chassis being shared with the R32 Skyline. Its second iteration
ditched the A31's sports car like pretensions and became a front wheel drive mid sized luxury sedan.
The Infiniti counterpart was born in other parts of the globe although not for sale here.

The first generation Cefiro didn't become a hit among consumers due to the prohibitive price back then. It was briefly sold from 1988-1990 now the a31 is used for drifting and is selling much higher than the luxury sedan (a32 body).

In late 1996, Nissan brought in the A32 Cefiro and was the first car to offer an
automatic climate control system, keyless entry (alarm systems where a novelty back then),
automatic gas tank release, and a disc changer. It became a best seller, outselling
competitors, and we know why, because rich filipinos experienced the power of the  first 3.0 v6 24 valve (vq30de)engine with top speed of 260kph in one luxury mid sized sedan package.

the nissan cefiro a32 is easy to VIP setup, just drop a 20 inches rims, and an airsuspension, then remove the tints. premium sound setup is not a necessity, a good carshow paint from ur sponsor and its guaranteed to win an award. thats why when my friend Edwin Aquino offered me his rare cefiro with VQ30DE manual transmission. I took his offer.

I got my cefiro last June 7 , exactly 8 yrs after I got my gray FEROZA, its a dream to drive. its fresh, the interior is still new, the only thing  that needs to be taken care of is the powerful engine and the registration. other than that, all is good.
